Merco has released the second edition of Merco Talent Pharma, the survey that identifies the pharmaceutical companies with the greatest ability to attract and retain talent in Spain. The monitor offers a comprehensive overview of companies’ standing as employers, combining the perceptions of various stakeholder groups with an analysis of objective indicators relating to the talent management policies of pharmaceutical companies.

In a context where attracting and retaining highly qualified professionals has become one of the pharmaceutical sector’s main challenges, Merco Talent Pharma reveals which companies are perceived as the most attractive for building a professional career.

The Merco Talent Pharma ranking places AstraZeneca in first place, followed by Bayer and Novartis. Rounding out the Top 10 are Pfizer (4th), Roche (5th), Johnson & Johnson (6th), GSK (7th), ISDIN (8th), Lilly (9th), and Ferrer (10th).

These companies stand out for their ability to attract and retain professionals in a highly competitive environment, where corporate reputation, professional development opportunities, innovation, and the quality of the work environment play an increasingly important role in the choice of employer.

The second edition of Merco Talent Pharma was compiled based on the assessments of 2,723 pharmaceutical sector employees, 1,698 science majors, 31,289 employees of large companies, and 7,000 members of the general public.

In addition to these assessments, the study includes a benchmarking of objective indicators relating to pharmaceutical companies’ talent management policies and an analysis of their digital employer brand on LinkedIn, forming a methodology that provides a comprehensive and rigorous overview of the companies’ positioning as employers.  

Merco Talent is produced by Análisis e Investigación, Spain’s first independent market research institute.
