Merco, a benchmark monitor for its ethical commitments and methodology, presented this Monday, June 16, the 200 companies and 100 leaders with the best reputation in 2025 as part of its 25th anniversary of evaluating the reputation of companies. These rankings are the result of an exhaustive and detailed analysis of a total of 62,410 surveys, 6 evaluations and 25 sources of information. 

In the Leaders 2025 ranking, Juan Roig (Mercadona) retains the top position for the seventh consecutive year, followed by Ana Botín (Santander), Amancio Ortega (Inditex), Marta Ortega (Inditex), Ignacio Sánchez Galán (Iberdrola) and Florentino Pérez (ACS Group). There are 29 women leaders in the top 100.

In a continuous advance and methodological adaptation, Merco has increased for the second consecutive year the capacity of analysis by increasing the evaluation from 100 to 200 companies. The 25th edition has had the participation of 1,372 managers of large companies, 647 experts from the business world (85 financial analysts, 59 journalists of economic information, 78 professors of the business area, 98 heads of NGOs and social entities, 74 heads of trade unions, 60 heads of consumer associations, 102 members of ‘Government’ and 91 social media managers), 53. 308 Merco Talent participants (workers, university students, business school alumni, university and business school professors, human resources managers, expert headhunters, union members and citizens) and 7,000 citizens (Merco Society). In addition to these evaluations, an analysis is also carried out in the digital sphere of companies (Merco Digital) with a total of 693,151 mentions analyzed and a benchmarking of objective indicators of companies.

The business monitor is verified through an independent review by KPMG, in accordance with the ISAE 3000 standard, which reinforces its rigor and ethical commitment. For this reason, KPMG does not disclose its position in the current ranking of the 25th edition.
