The Hospitals and Clinical Services with the best reputation in Spain during 2023
This Wednesday the presentation of the results of the Hospitals and Clinical Services with the best reputation in Spain in 2023 took place according to the Health Reputation Monitor (MRS).
As in the previous edition, the results of the MRS - in its ninth edition - reflect the weight of Madrid and Barcelona in terms of clinical services with the best reputation. On this occasion, the top 3 public hospitals that lead the ranking are the La Paz hospital in Madrid, which once again takes the lead and stands out in seventeen clinical services; followed by Clínic de Barcelona, which does the same in five; and Vall D'Hebron, which stands out in four specialties.
In the ranking of public hospitals, Hospital Universitario La Paz, Hospital Clínic de Barcelona, Hospital General Universitario Gregorio Marañón, Hospital Universitario 12 de Octubre and Hospital Universitari Vall D'Hebron stand out as the top five, as in 2022.
In the ranking of private hospitals, the Clínica Universidad de Navarra repeats its first position. It is followed by the Quirónsalud Madrid University Hospital, HM Sanchinarro University Hospital, Sanitas La Zarzuela University Hospital and the Teknon-Quirónsalud Medical Center.
As a novelty, in this edition there are 34 hospital services, after the inclusion of seven more specialties compared to 2022: clinical analysis, pathological anatomy, pediatric surgery, plastic surgery, geriatrics, physical medicine and rehabilitation, and neurosurgery. In all of them, the 10 best hospitals in each branch stand out. The only exception is pediatric surgery, in which a top 5 is made. In addition, 25 more hospitals have also been included in the private ranking, measuring a total of 75.
In the ranking of medical specialties by Autonomous Communities, the Community of Madrid is the one that stands out the most, with 59 hospital services within the top 3 within the 34 medical specialties (excluding community and family medicine). Catalonia follows with 27 and Andalusia and the Valencian Community, with 4 each.
The MRS is the only independent study that analyzes the reputation of the entire Spanish healthcare system. The research is carried out through the evaluation of the actors in the health system based on three assessments: the first, carried out by medical professionals (4,005 hospital specialist doctors and 307 family and community medicine doctors); the second, the assessment of 2,304 nurses, 223 hospital managers and directors, 320 nursing managers, 82 directors of pharmaceutical companies, 70 hospital pharmacy managers, 532 patient association managers, as well as 110 journalists and health informants; the third, the analysis of more than 3,254 specific objective indicators of 34 clinical services.
